Full-Time Exempt | Reports to Senior Director of Programs 


Clery Center seeks a dynamic individual to oversee the planning and implementation of its Clery Act Training Seminar program in overall support of campus safety including compliance with the Jeanne Clery Act. As an Assistant Director of Programs this role will be the lead responsible for the development and implementation of Clery Center’s in-person and online Clery Act Training Seminars (CATS) which include three-day and one-day virtual and in-person CATS and our asynchronous Online CATS. They will also lead Clery Center’s National Campus Safety Awareness Month (NCSAM) efforts each September. This role will support the Programs team with conference presentations, campus training requests, webinars, technical assistance, and annual security report reviews. 

The Assistant Director of Programs must excel at engaging an audience of adult learners, curriculum development, breaking down nuanced concepts, and utilizing virtual learning platforms and strategies. The position requires project management skills, excellent interpersonal and public speaking skills. This is a fully remote position that requires frequent travel serving as a lead representative at in-person CATS.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Create and provide interactive, engaging training opportunities targeted towards adult learners
  • Serve as a lead representative of Clery Center at in-person and online/virtual education and training programs
  • Deliver technical assistance support on the Clery Act through emails and phone calls
  • Conduct annual security report reviews throughout the year for Clery Center members
  • Develop and implement curriculum for in-person and virtual trainings
  • Conceptualize and carry out National Campus Safety Awareness Month campaign
  • Coordinate with external instructors, as needed, for trainings
  • Identify key training areas and needs through assessment surveys and monitoring of FAQs
  • Occasional early morning, evening, and weekend hours (project based)


Experience & Qualifications

  • Commitment to Clery Center’s organizational values of being mission driven, collaborative, innovative, inclusive, and authentic
  • Champions a multidisciplinary and prevention based approach to public safety that centers identity and lived experiences of campus community members
  • Familiarity with the requirements of the Clery Act and Title IX
  • BA or BS degree required
  • At least two years previous experience providing training facilitation or presentation of information on policy and procedures at or with institutions of higher education
  • At least two years previous experience with curriculum development or project management
  • Skilled in technical writing, editing, analysis, or critique of policy and procedures
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, e-learning platforms, customer relationship management (CRM) software and learning management system (LMS) software
  • Captivating presenter that can quickly adapt to changing situations
  • Highly motivated and organized with ability to multitask, yet remain focused
  • Collaborative team player energized by giving and receiving feedback
  • Ability to establish priorities while working independently and remotely
  • Detail-oriented


Other Requirements

  • Ability to physically perform the duties listed above and work in the environmental conditions required such as maneuvering in an office or workspace, use of a computer/laptop for several hours at a time, using a headset and making phone calls
  • Must be able to lift up to 20 lbs
  • Must be able to travel up to 35% of the time to various locations across the United States as needed
  • Must have access to a private workspace appropriate for virtual training facilitation, reliable phone service, and high-speed internet


Compensation & Benefits

Compensation: $55,000-62,000 (commensurate with experience)

Benefits Include: Health Insurance with employer contribution of 80% for employees, Dental Insurance with employer contribution of 100% for employees, Life Insurance, Retirement Plan (matching up to 3% of salary, following one year of employment), Generous Paid Time off (inclusive of vacation, sick, and personal time), Paid Family/Medical Leave (2 weeks), Remote Work.
